In 2018, a dream was born... not simply to build a place, but to create a countryside retreat where beauty, nature and meaningful connection could exist in harmony.
Bella Bohemia was not built in a day. Its journey reflects patience, faith, teamwork, skills and steady dedication. What began as open farmland has slowly transformed into a thoughtfully curated boutique lodge; shaped piece by piece, season by season.
As founders and owners, we both come from professional backgrounds beyond the farm. Coert, a physician and farmer, and Vanessa, a broker and admitted attorney, began developing the property after hours, over weekends, and with careful, incremental investment. Bella Bohemia remains a work in progress, evolving organically and intentionally.
Each month, another part of the vision came to life. One season, hundreds of trees were planted to frame the landscape. Another, architectural features were introduced to create warmth and character. Carefully selected furnishings and design elements were added over time, each chosen with intention. The gardens and structures have been personally conceptualised and overseen by us, reflecting our shared passion for landscape, architecture, interiors, and the enduring relationship between them.
Our vision has always extended beyond accommodation. We wanted to create a place where guests could slow down; where life feels gentler, more grounded, more connected. Bella Bohemia is a countryside lodge and wellness retreat designed to offer rest, privacy, and thoughtful experiences in a farm setting.
At the heart of the property lies our Kitchen Garden; a living expression of our farm-inspired philosophy. Here, seasonal produce and cultivated spaces remind us of simpler rhythms and the beauty of nurturing something from the soil.
